WELCOME TO MRS DAYTON'S ROOM
I grew up in the small farming community of Reardan about 15 miles west of here. I graduated from Washington State University (Go Cougs!) in 2003 with a degree in Elementary Education. In 2019, I graduated from Western Governors University with a Masters in Educational Learning and Technology.
This will be my 13th year teaching for the Medical Lake School District. I was the STEM/Science teacher for 8 years working at both Michael Anderson and Hallett elementary schools. I am in love with this grade level, my grade level team, and the students that end up in my room.
Beyond teaching, my other favorite things to do would be Traveling( I have been to 42 countries and 48 states), Volleyball, Softball, Football, Cooking, Reading, Scrap-booking, 4-H, Halloween costume planning, useless projects, and list making. I also love an underdog, which always tends to be my WSU Cougars, who I have rooted for my entire life. Having married a man from Cleveland, my affinity for losing sports teams has only increased!
I have been married for 17 years to a die hard Cleveland Fan from Avon Lake, OH. We met working on a cruise ship in Alaska (he was an assistant cruise director, while I was the youth director). We have two amazing and sometimes crazy boys (Parker 9 and Cooper 11) who both attend Michael Anderson Elementary. Our family is the quintessential nerd family with collections of Harry Potter, Star Wars, Disney, and Marvel memorabilia. As you will soon find out, Harry Potter is my favorite and my room is decorated as such!
I am so excited to be back in 3rd grade and look forward to working with great students this year!
