Class Routine: 1. Entry Task ---> Review previously learned skills & concepts, warm-up & stretch
2. Fitness Activity ---> Individually paced movement geared towards improving overall fitness
3. Sport/Game Activity ---> Traditional team and individual sports and activities
4. Health/Fitness Curriculum ---> Concepts that promote a lifetime of health and fitness
Class Rules and Expectations:
- To participate in all activities and give your best effort
- To be safe
- To be respectful and show good sportsmanship
Consequences:
1st Time: Verbal Warning
2nd Time: Time Out
Communicate individually with child about behavior
Come up with a plan to correct behavior
Student may join back in class if they have come up with a plan on correcting the misbehavior
3rd Time: Done with PE class for the day
*If behavior is repetitive there will be a call home to parents
Grading Policy for Intermediate (4th & 5th Grade):
Students will receive three grades each semester; Effort/Participation, Fundamental Skills and Academic Knowledge. Their Effort/Participation grade will be based on their level of involvement during each PE class. Their Fundamental Skills grade will be based upon standard based grading for motor skills and movement patterns. And finally, their Health/Fitness Knowledge grade will be based upon question/answer sessions, observation, and PE portfolio assignments.
Grading Policy for Primary (1st, 2nd, 3rd Grade):
Students will receive two grades each semester; Effort/Participation and Fundamental Skills. Their Effort/Participation grade will be based on their level of involvement during each PE class. Their Fundamental Skills grade will be based upon standard based grading for motor skills and movement patterns.
*Please keep in mind that grading for PE will vary semester to semester dependent upon the given activities during that semester. Grading is not done on a year long continuum like the regular classroom subjects. Each grading period reflects a new area of skills, activities and fitness components.

Skill Assessment ---> Playground Games, Fitness Testing, Bowling, Circuit Training, Step Aerobics, Team Building
Academic Knowledge Assessment ---> Components of Fitness, Nutrition
Fitness Assessment ---> Fitness Testing
Second Semester in PE:
Skill Assessment ---> Dance, Basketball, Jump Rope, Obstacle Course, Judo
Academic Knowledge Assessment ---> Skeletal System, Personal Safety, Hygiene
Fitness Assessment ---> Skill Testing
Third Semester in PE:
Skill Assessment---> Soccer, Components of Fitness, Cup Stacking, Hockey
Academic Knowledge Assessment ---> Components of Fitness, Muscular System, 5th Grade CBA Testing
Fitness Assessment ---> Fitness Testing
