I hope this message finds you and your family well. As many of you know, the Medical Lake School District had a staff member with a confirmed case of COVID-19 over the weekend. This staff member is not a teacher at Michael Anderson Elementary. With ever changing directives we want to provide as up to date information to our community as we can. As the district administrative team continues to iron out plans, I want to assure you that our staff, student and family health and safety are our main priority. Below are some recent updates for our Michael Anderson Elementary families.


Our district custodial teams have started a deep cleaning task force. This week deep cleaning is taking place all across the district. Once this deep cleaning is completed, I will have more information regarding a timeline of when you might be able to retrieve some of your child’s belongings and/or student work resources.


This is a time for families to focus on each other and their well being. We are currently compiling educational resources that can help support students at home. These materials will focus on review, practice and enrichment.

Students currently enrolled in preschool at Michael Anderson will automatically be enrolled in the next grade. There is no paperwork for you to complete at this time.

Children must be 5 years old before August 31 to enroll in kindergarten, 3 or 4 years old before August 31 to enroll in preschool.

If you are registering the sibling of a student already enrolled in the Medical Lake School District, you may go through Family Access. Once in Family Access use the menu on the left side to complete the enrollment application.

If you know a family that needs to register a student but has no students enrolled in the Medical Lake School District, please direct them to the district website, mlsd.org. New Student Online Enrollment may be found under Student/Parent at the top right side of the page.

Your enrollment application will be processed and you will receive a confirmation email from Kim Nowalk ([email protected]), school secretary.
